In elderly care, time planning is important for the physical and mental health of both the elderly and the caregiver. During the aging process, people’s daily, professional and family responsibilities decrease and they begin to have more free time during the day. In the face of increasing free time, the negative changes that occur in the body and its physical, mental and spiritual effects on the individual create the need for individuals to make these time periods more useful and enjoyable. Thus, the social life, physical independence andenjoyment of life that continue in adulthood can be maintained with free time activities in old age. At the same
time, it is necessary for the caregiver to draw their own boundaries in order to protect their own mental and
physical health, to share responsibilities with others, to determine clear time periods for this, to create individual time for themselves and to focus on their personal hobbies and pursuits in order to manage their own stress and increase their psychological resilience.
